Wonderful Wednesday with Needle and Thread

Happiest Birthday Card Tutorial
Small pops of bright Designer Series Papers can make a big difference in your card designs.  They add texture and color, and even in small amounts can make them look like you took hours to make them, or like you purchased it from a boutique!  I love Berry Burst, but it will be retiring soon along with the Needlepoint Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Those tiny flowers are punched with the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack and are a perfect pair for this product suite.

Product of the Week: Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper

This is one paper I couldn't wait to get my hands on!  The Needlepoint Nook DSP is vibrant with many different colors that coordinate with the paper.   It also features photo-realistic prints that look just like embroidery.  Each paper has an embroidered pattern on one side, and then stitched line work with a solid-color background on the reverse.  Perfect for spring and floral paper crafting, but the line work is excellent for more masculine needs too.

Needle and Thread Stamp Set
Measurements:

Base: Whisper White Thick Cardstock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4"
Layer 1: Berry Burst Cardstock, 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Layer 2: Needlepoint Nook DSP, 5 3/8" x 3/4" (Berry Burst)
Layer 3: Needlepoint Nook DSP, 4 1/2" x 3/4" (embroidered circles)
Layer 4: Crushed Curry Cardstock, punch with Tailored Tag Punch

Embellishments: Gold Mini Sequin Trim, Gold Metallic Thread, Pearl Basic Jewels

Instructions:

1.  Stamp "Happiest Birthday" in the middle of Layer 4 (ink just those two words then clean the stamp) and then directly below stamp "To You"....stamp both in Night of Navy Ink.

2.  Use the two stitched border dies in the Needlepoint Elements Die pack to add stitch lines to Layer 1 on the bottom-left corner, and the middle.  Run through Big Shot.

3.  Adhere Layer 1 to Base using Snail.

4.  Adhere Layers 2 and 3 to Layer 1 with Layer 2 on the left side, just inside of the far left stitching.  Then add Layer 3 overlapping Layer 2 filling up the space between both the stitching from the dies.  Adhere using Snail.

5.  Roll up a piece of Tear & Tape and adhere along the left side of Layer 3.  Place a length of Gold Sequin Trim on top.

6.  Place Dimensionals on the back of Layer 4.  Wrap fingers several times with Gold Thread and tack to the Dimensionals on the back of Layer 4, then place Layer 4 onto the Base about at the middle of the card front.

7.  Punch choice of 3 flowers in choice of coordinating cardstock scraps (I used Berry Burst, Blushing Bride, and Balmy Blue) using the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack.  Adhere 2 of the flowers on either side of the center point of the tag above the sentiment using Snail.  Then adhere the 3rd flower at the center point using a Mini Dimensional.

8.  Embellish Layer 4 with Pearls, adding one to the center of each flower, then embellishing the rest of the tag as you see fit.
