Wonderful Wednesday with Butterfly Gala

Celebrate the Season Card Tutorial

There's so much to celebrate during Spring, and one of my favorite things to see is butterflies.  We have a huge flowering vine off our back deck, and it buzzes all day long with pollinators.  Butterflies don't buzz, but they are always around too, and are such a joy to watch.  I also love that butterflies can be a symbol of transformation.  I loved helping our church in New Mexico make decorations for the sanctuary for Easter.  They had beautiful glittering stars for Christmas that hung down all throughout the sanctuary, and they wanted to do something similar for Easter.  Butterflies were the answer, and I made at least 50 to help get them started.

The Butterfly Gala Stamp Set is paired with the Butterfly Duo Punch as a bundle so you can stamp and punch out as many as you would like (wish I had something like this for my church!).  I pulled out the sentiment from the Mistletoe Season Stamp Set because we will be celebrating Easter, and it is definitely a celebration.  It's a great way to use this holiday stamp set for more than just Christmas.

Tip of the Week: Wink of Stella
While the Wink of Stella brush will add a shimmer to any paper project, it also will blend your ink.  Wink of Stella is an excellent tool for adding color to projects by picking up some ink to add, or moving ink that is already stamped.  It's water-based, so it works with all of Stampin' Ups! inks except Stazon.  It doesn't move Memento too much either, but Memento is water-based, so it will move if you color over it a lot.  But the best part is, if your stamping isn't quite what you hoped, you may be able to add a dash of sparkle, and also blend the color and it would look awesome.  My stamping on the card for today's tutorial wasn't perfect, but it looks great now.  And no one would ever know, because I colored over it with Wink of Stella and it blended all the ink on my butterflies really well!
Product of the Week: Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper
The Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper (DSP) is a perfect paper pack for spring.  It comes with 5 colors that are bright and coordinate well to give you plenty of design options.  You can choose from two patterns as well, with one side of each paper having a larger check pattern and the reverse having a smaller pattern.
