Beautiful Day Card Tutorial
Sometimes I just need a different size card. I really like the standard A2, which is a half sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock. But this week I needed something that could fit into a standard letter envelop. It wasn't measured perfectly, but it turned out beautiful and served the purpose: enclose a check. There's nothing I groan about more than sending someone "business" without a bit of fun. It wasn't super serious business in my opinion either, but it just felt empty without a card. And let's face it, who isn't worried about sending a check in the mail without something to encase it?
Product of the Week: Just Because Host Stamp Set
The Just Because Cling Stamp Set features three medium size floral images that are perfect for both full-size cards and note cards. Each image also has a sentiment built in so you don't have to arrange your stamps to line everything up. It's already lined up for you! Love What You Do Stamp SetMeasurements:
Base: Whisper White Thick Cardstock,
8 1/2" x 7", score and fold at 3 1/2"
Layer 1: Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, 5 1/2" x 3 1/4"
Layer 2: Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, 2 3/4" x 3 1/4"
Layer 3: Rich Razzleberry Cardstock,
3" x 2 1/4", use corner rounder punch on 2 opposing corners from the Detailed Trio Punch
Layer 4: Whisper White Cardstock, 2 3/4" x 2"
use corner rounder punch on 2 opposing corners from the Detailed Trio Punch
Embellishment: Whisper White 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon
Instructions:
1. Stamp "It's a Beautiful Day" sentiment in the middle of the 4 using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink with rounded corner in top-left and bottom-right corners.
2. Stamp small leaf image on Layer 4 in bottom-left corner 3 times without reinking, moving stamp up slightly each time. Repeat same stamping in top-right corner.
3. Adhere length of ribbon around Layer 1 around short side on one end. Be sure it is right up against the edge of the paper and adhere ends to the back side using Mini Glue Dots.
4. Adhere Layer 1 to Base on left side with ribbon in the middle of the card. Adhere Layer 2 on right side (ribbon will help hide where the two edges meet).
5. Adhere Layer 4 to Layer 3, then adhere both to Layers 1 and 2, with more of Layers 3 and 4 over Layer 2. Ribbon will be about 3/4" from the left edge.
