Hello Butterfly Card Tutorial

I have always had a fascination with Monarchs since I was very young.  I remember housing some Monarch caterpillars in my house in an old Cool Whip container with holes in the top, keeping a few milkweed leaves in there for it to eat (it was my first "pet").  But the first time I took one in our home, we had no clue that the green caterpillars would turn into Monarchs.  And I quickly found out that caterpillars don't stay caterpillars very long....I only had a caterpillar one night before it turned into a chrysalis!  Needless to say I learned a lot about Monarchs that year, but I never lost that fascination either.  

Product of the Week: Beauty Abounds Bundle

The Beauty Abounds Bundle certainly plays to the Monarch's beautiful wing design in the framelits dies.  There are also a couple small stamps of butterflies in the stamp set, but I love the fact that there are matching floral images and great background textures in the stamp set.  There are sooooo many cute little butterflies in the framelits!  There are 10 of the same, tiniest butterflies so you can cut out many of them at the same time.  There are also duplicates of several other butterflies in the framelits set, as well as three butterfly dies that can be layered together or used separately.

Beauty Abounds Bundle

Measurements:

Base: Basic Black Cardstock,
11" x 4 1/4", score and fold at 5 1/2"
Layer 1: Grapefruit Grove Cardstock,
5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Layer 2: 2018-2020 In-Color Designer Series Paper,
4 1/8" x 3"
Layer 3: Basic Black Cardstock, 5 3/8" x 4 1/8",
die cut large butterfly background with solid-edge wings
Inside Panel: Whisper White Cardstock, 5 1/4" x 4"

Embellishments: Faceted Dots, use the Grapefruit Grove color

Instructions:

1. Adhere Layer 1 to Base using Snail.

2.  Adhere Layer 2 over Layer 1, using Layer 3 over top as a guide.  The largest butterfly of Layer 3 should mostly fit on top of Layer 2.  Adhere with Snail

3.  Adhere Layer 3 over the other Layers using Multi Liquid Glue.

4.  Stamp "Hello" along bottom edge of Layer 1 using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Stamp will best fit below and between the two bottom butterflies.

5.  Embellish the edges of the wings with Faceted Dots, using larger ones on the tops and bottoms of the wings.

6.  Adhere Inside Panel inside the card.
