Cacti Corner Fold Card Tutorial
I couldn't go the whole week without doing a fancy card with the Flowering Desert Collection. I stuck to the collection, but added the 2 1/4" Circle Punch and the Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon for some bling. This fold I've done before, and from what I can find, it is called the Corner Fold. It is done by cutting a right angle in the card front. Not sure how to do it? I love it when products are designed to work together so well that I don't have to think about finding products! And that is EXACTLY what Stampin' Up! is doing when you see "You Can Make It" in their catalogs or online. They have pulled together products that work together for you to make the projects they show. I think about the only thing the "You Can Make It" sets don't include are adhesive and a paper trimmer, but otherwise, all you have to do is pick a "You Can Make It" collection and start stamping. Measurements:
Base: Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock,
8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4"
Layer 1: Coastal Cabana Cardstock,
2 7/8" x 2 7/8"
Layer 2: Calypso Coral Cardstock,
2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Layer 3: Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock, 2 1/4" Circle Punch
Inside Panel: Calypso Coral Cardstock,
5" x 3 3/4"
Embellishment: Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon
Instructions:
Corner Fold: See diagram
1. Stamp "Be Your Own..." sentiment on bottom of folded section of the card Base in Berry Burst Ink.
2. Place all the single cactus pieces on a block together, and stamp repeatedly on the front of the card Base with the folded section UNFOLDED (put it back to a regular card front). Stamp with Granny Apple Green Ink. Fold as intended once stamping is done.
3. Stamp small bush with circles onto Layer 3 using Call Me Clover Ink. Stamp a second time without reinking, shifting to the right.
4. Stamp small flower repeatedly onto the tops of the circles stamped on Layer 3. Can stamp twice before reinking to make lighter ones on the lighter bush. Stamp in Berry Burst Ink.
5. Adhere Layers 1, 2, and 3 onto corner cut section using Snail. Also adhere Inside Panel in the back of the card on the inside.
6. Tie a bow in the Berry Burst Ribbon and adhere onto Layer 3 using Mini Glue Dots.
8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4"
