YouTube Tuesday with Tags and Tidings

Stenciled Seasons Greetings Card Tutorial

Stenciling is such a fun and easy technique to do, and the Christmas Tags Thinlits Die is perfect for stenciling.  It also means you can use not only the tags that you die cut, but the frame from cutting out all the dies as well.  Be sure to check out the YouTube tutorial below.  I show you how to do it, and it's simple and fun!

Stenciled Seasons Greetings Card Tutorial
Tags and Tidings Bundle

To Make Tags:
Stamp full tag image using Garden Green Ink onto a 4 1/4" x 6" Whisper White Card Stock.  Cut out using the Christmas Tags Thinlits Die.  Using washi tape to hold the die in place will help you line it up well.  Be sure to keep the frame that you cut from all the tags for this project!

Card/Tag 1
Measurements:

Base: Whisper White Thick Card Stock,
4 1/4" x 11" score at 5 1/2"
Layer 1:  Whisper White Card Stock Tag with "Seasons Greetings"
Embellishment: Lovely Lipstick 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
Other Supplies: Whisper White Card Stock 4" x 6", die cut the Christmas Tags Die and keep the frame from the tags to use as a stencil

Instructions:

1.  Lay your card on your work surface and place the stencil over the top.  Use some Washi Tape to hold down the stencil.
2.  Using a Stampin' Sponge and Garden Green Ink, press the sponge into the ink pad to pick up some ink.  Pounce your sponge over the stencil, you can also rub.  You'll get more texture if you pounce, and more smooth color if you rub.  Pouncing off some of the ink first helps to make the color more even and less textured.  Once you've inked to your liking, remove the stencil.
3.  Thread a piece of Lovely Lipstick Ribbon through the hole on Layer 1 and wrap around the front of the card Base.  Tie a bow to secure tightly to the card.  You can use some Mini Glue Dots under the ribbon to assist with keeping it in place.  Be sure the bow is towards the top-left of the card.
4.  Use Dimensionsals on the back of Layer 1 to secure it to the Base just below the bow.
