Fantastic Friday with Let It Ride

Scenic Card Tutorial
I think I need to do another video for this one because it's so cool and easy to do.  Tune in Tuesday and I'll be stamping this one for you on camera.

This card is going to be a great design I come back to time and time again.  It is an easy technique card with some stamping and some direct-to-paper, or pressing the actual ink pad onto your project.  I wasn't sure how this would turn out at first, but as the color settled in and started to dry, I was really surprised at how the inks looked and reacted with one another.

The tree stamp in the Let It Ride Stamp Set is great for building landscape cards.  But I wanted a mountain and I didn't have one....so I made one!  Hope you enjoy the tutorial for today, and if you are unsure about the directions, be sure to tune in for my video on my YouTube channel:

Let It Ride Stamp Set

Measurements:

Base: Whisper White Thick Cardstock,
5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Layer 1: Whisper White Cardstock,
5" x 3 3/4"

Instructions:

1.  Using a Gray Granite Ink Pad, press ink from pad directly onto Layer 1 across bottom half of Layer.  Turn ink pad on diagonal and press at varying angles to create mountain peaks.  Give this ink about 30 seconds to start drying before doing Step 2.

2.  Using a Pool Party Ink Pad, press directly onto Layer 1 to fill in the white areas above the mountain you inked.  It is ok for the colors to overlap a bit.

3.  Stamp tree image repeatedly in Shaded Spruce Ink on Layer 1 on the left side of the card without reinking between stamping.  Each time you stamp make the trees a bit higher up than the last time, so they get lighter.  This will create the effect that they are fading to the background or getting farther away.  Repeat this stamping technique for the right side as well.

4.  Take a small block and press it into a Soft Suede Ink Pad to pick up ink.  Lightly press onto the bottom of Layer 1 to add texture to the ground area around the base of the trees.

5.  Stamp "For You" sentiment on Layer 1 in the top, right corner in Soft Sued Ink.

6.  Let Layer 1 dry and then adhere to Base using Snail.
