 Thinking of You Card Tutorial

These large images with sentiments built in make designing simple and fun to do!  I love Stampin' Blends, but sometimes I can't take them with me.  And I know I don't have all the colors either, so here's another coloring option, especially for those of you who have limited space: Blender Pens. 

 Blender Pens pick up water-based ink and lay that color down on your projects, blending it lighter and lighter until the color is gone.  You can pick up ink from the cover of your ink pads, from markers if you put some of the ink on a block, or from a drop of reinker (this one will be intense and take a while to run out!).  Once you're done coloring, scribble your Blender Pen on a scratch paper (with no ink) until the color is gone.  Once done, you can use it again, and again with other colors.

Just Because Stamp Set

Measurements:

Base: Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock,
8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4"
Layer 1: Highland Heather Cardstock,
5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Layer 2: Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper, 5" x 3 3/4"
Layer 3: Highland Heather Cardstock,
4 5/8" x 3 3/8"
Layer 4: Whisper White Cardstock,
4 1/2" x 3 1/4"


Embellishment: Highland Heather Ribbon from Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack, or substitute Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon

Instructions: 

1.  Stamp "Thinking of You" sentiment with floral arrangement onto Layer 4 using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

2.  Color stamped image on Layer 4 using Blender Pen.  Squeeze closed ink pad so cover presses into the ink pad.  Open and use Blender Pen to pick up ink from the COVER.  Color areas quickly and lightly.  Use Lemon Lime Twist Ink for the leaves, and Highland Heather Ink for the pot.

3.  Adhere Layers 1 and 2 together.  Adhere Layers 3 and 4 together and then adhere both to Layers 1 and 2.

4.  Wrap with a length of Ribbon on the top-left and bottom-right corners and secure ends on the back of Layer 1 using Mini Glue Dots.  Adhere Layers 1 and 2 to Base.  Tie a bow with ribbon around the ribbon on bottom-right corner.

 Mother's Day Card Tutorial

Just Because Stamp Set

Measurements:

Base: Whisper White Thick Cardstock,
8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4"
Layer 1: Mango Melody Cardstock,
5" x 4"
Layer 2: Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper, 5 1/2" x 2"
Layer 3: Whisper White Cardstock, 4" x 2 1/2"


Embellishment: Powder Pink 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon

Instructions: 

1.  Stamp "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment with floral arrangement onto Layer 3 using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

2.  Color stamped image on Layer 3 using Light/Dark Soft Sea Foam Blends for leaves, Dark Mango Melody for vase, and Light/Dark Calypso Coral for flowers.

3.  Adhere Layers 1 and 2 together with Layer 2 toward the left side.  Wrap with a length of Shimmer Ribbon and secure ends on the back of Layer 1 using Mini Glue Dots.  Adhere Layers 1 and 2 to Base.

4.  Adhere Layer 3 to Layer 2 on the right side toward the bottom corner using Dimensionals.  Tie bow in Shimmer Ribbon to the left of Layer 3 on the Ribbon attached already.

Make It Monday with Just Because

 Because Of You Card Tutorial

The Just Because Cling Stamp Set looks lovely paired with the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Petal Pink with just a touch of Basic Gray keeps this card soft, but the elongated hexagon panel on which it is stamped adds interest and echoes the hexagon shapes from the embossing folder.  The hexagon shape is easy to cut.  Just start with a square, then place the square in the Stampin' Trimmer on a diagonal to cut off opposing corners.

 Because Of You Card Tutorial

Just Because Stamp Set

Measurements:

Base: Petal Pink Cardstock,
8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4"
Layer 1: Whisper White Cardstock,
5" x 3 3/4"
Layer 2: Petal Pink Cardstock,
4 7/8" x 3 5/8", run through Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
Layer 3: Whisper White Cardstock, 3 3/8" x 3 3/8"


Embellishment: Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon

Instructions: 

1.  Stamp "I am What...." sentiment with floral arrangement onto Layer 3 on the diagonal using Basic Gray Ink.


2.  Place Layer 3 into Stampin' Trimmer on the diagonal.  Line up the top and bottom points at the
1 1/4" mark and trim.  Turn and repeat for other side. (see image)

3.  Adhere Layers 1 and 2 together.  Wrap with a length of Metallic-Edge Ribbon and secure ends on the back of Layer 1 using Mini Glue Dots.  Adhere Layers 1 and 2 to Base.

4.  Color image on Layer 3 using Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends.

5.  Adhere Layer 3 to Layer 2 on the left side using Dimensionals.  Tie bow in Metallic-Edge Ribbon and adhere over the ribbon on Layer 2 on right side.
