Product of the Week:  Using Timeless Tidings Stamp Set and Project Kit

Beautiful, rich colors and textures embody this easy-to-assemble card kit with coordinating stamp set.  But of course I wouldn't be in my true nature if I didn't play with it a bit!  I don't like following the directions- I have to make it my own or put my own twist on it per se.  So the tutorial for today is an example of what you can do beyond the given directions.  This project kit already comes with instructions and I'm sure a video which I'll share once available.  Until then, I'm anxiously awaiting the release of our products for the Holiday Catalog on September 5th.  On which day, you'll be able to order this lovely project kit and stamp set.  AND, you'll have plenty of extra projects from this week to look at and make aside from what the kit instructions give you to do!

The Timeless Tidings Project Kit comes with 5 each in 4 designs: 20 cards.  

Each design includes gold foil stickers and tags to make your holiday card making a snap.

And to help you line up those stickers, each card design includes a line or print area for you to get them perfectly straight.  But if you are a person who likes to follow a different path, below is an additional project you can make with a few extra supplies.

Merry Christmas Card Tutorial

Using Timeless Tidings Stamp Set and Project Kit

Base:  Whisper White ThickCard Stock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded at 4 1/4", card in landscape

Layer 1: Timeless Tidings Striped Card, use back side cut to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

Layer 2: Shaded Spruce Card Stock 4 3/8" x 3"

Layer 3: Timeless Tidings Tree Print
Layer 4: Linen Thread
Layer 5: Soft Sea Foam Card Stock, 3 3/4" x 3/4"

Instructions

1.  Stamp "Merry Christmas" sentiment on Layer 5 using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Banner cut left end of strip.

2.  Adhere Layers 1 to Base.  Adhere Layer 2 in bottom left corner.

4.  Using Glue Dots, wrap Layer 4 around the middle of Layer 3 adhering ends of Linen Thread to the back side.  Adhere to Base with a 1/4" stripe of Shaded Spruce below Layer 3.

5.  Using Dimensionals adhere Layers 5 to Base centered over Linen Thread, but right end should extend about a 1/4" farther right than the Shaded Spruce Layer 2.  Tie 2 pieces of Linen Thread into a bow and adhere on Linen Thread to the left of sentiment.

Using Timeless Tidings Stamp Set

Base:  Cherry Cobbler Card Stock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded at 4 1/4", card in landscape

Layer 1: Whisper White Card Stock, 5 1/4" x 4"

Layer 2: Dashing Along DSP 5" x 2 1/2"
Layer 3: Dashing Along DSP 5" x 1 1/4"

Layer 4: Whisper White 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon
Layer 5: Vellum Card Stock, 3 1/4" x 2 1/8"
Layer 6: Garden Green Card Stock, 3" x 1 7/8"
Layer 7: Whisper White Card Stock, 2 3/4" x 1 5/8"

Instructions

1.  Stamp "May the Warmth..." sentiment on Layer 7, banner cut right end of strip.

2.  Adhere Layer 7 to Layer 6 and banner cut ends of Layer 6 to frame Layer 7.  Repeat for Layer 5.

3.  Adhere Layers 2 and 3 to Layer 1 with Green DSP on top and red DSP on bottom.

4.  Using Glue Dots, wrap Layer 4 covering where Layers 2 and 3 meet, adhering ribbon to the back side of Layer 1.  Adhere all to Base.

5.  Using Dimensionals adhere Layers 5, 6 and 7 to Base centered over ribbon.  Tie a bow with more Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon and adhere to Layer 4 on left side of sentiment using Glue Dots.

The holiday season is fast approaching and for most crafters that means pedal-to-the-metal for all things home-made.  So let's start off the September with a festive Christmas card that is easy to make, but holds all the festivities.  The stamp set is also a sneak peak of some of what is coming in the new Holiday Catalog.  Stampin' Up will start orders from the holiday catalog on September 5th!  What's more, this Designer Series Paper (DSP) is one you can earn FREE and is only available during the month of September.  See details for the Dashing Along promotion below!

Layer 1: Dashing Along DSP 5 1/4" x 4"

Layer 2: Garden Green Card Stock 4 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Layer 3: Dashing Along DSP, 4" x 3"
Layer 4: Whisper White 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon
Layer 5: Cherry Cobbler Card Stock, 2 3/4" x 1 1/2"
Layer 6: Whisper White Card Stock, 2 1/2" x 1 1/4"

Instructions

1.  Stamp "May the Warmth..." sentiment on Layer 6, banner cut right end of strip.

2.  Adhere Layer 6 to Layer 5 and banner cut ends of Layer 5 to frame Layer 6.

3.  Adhere Layers 2 and 3 together.  Adhere both to Layer 1 in center.

4.  Using Glue Dots, wrap Layer 4 around the middle of Layers 1, 2, and 3 adhering ribbon to the back side of Layer 1.  Adhere all to Base.

5.  Using Dimensionals adhere Layers 5 and 6 to Base centered over ribbon.  Tie a knot of ribbon around Layer 4 on left side of sentiment.
